We went to a fun concert on Monday night -- Thurl Bailey. Of course he is a famous basketball player (played for the Jazz, along with a few other teams), but he said his first love was always music. His daughter plays volleyball for Lehi High School. The program needs money, so he offered to do a concert and all funds raised would go to Lehi Volleyball. Each girl who plays (or wants to play!) was asked to sell tickets, so Savanna sold some. The concert got re-scheduled once because the first night the power was out. We really enjoyed it. It was a little over an hour long and in a smaller, intimate setting. Thurl was funny and really engaging with the crowd. He sang a few "oldie" songs that we knew, plus several he'd written. He has a beautiful, deep bass voice. Afterward he stayed for photos and autographs. We all enjoyed it.
