Kennedy turned 10 years old! She was so excited to be double digits. She has been counting down for this birthday for several months.
She wanted a chocolate cake, of course. Her favorite foods are chocolate and watermelon. She also got a big watermelon - and she thinks she gets to eat all of it! She was able to blow out all her candles, even though I only wanted to put 9 on. Seriously -- she can't be 10!
She opened a couple of gifts before school because she couldn't wait. She got a new outfit and wore it that day.
Part of her gift was getting a manicure and "glitter toes." She got to take a friend (Kenzie) and Savanna also got to go. They all enjoyed the manicure, as it was a first for them. They each chose a different color for their toes - and they were all so cute!
When we got to the salon, we were surprised to find just one girl there. We thought there would be several and they'd all be worked on at once. But, they each had to wait their turn. The girl who helped us was really nice and cute with the girls - which goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover! (I may have been guilty of judging her when we first arrived, since she had tattoos covering her body and a not-so-modest shirt on.)
She got a new scooter for her birthday and was quite thrilled about it. Thanks, Kaitlin, for helping her put it together!
At school that day, it was "Pioneer Day." All the kids dressed up in pioneer clothes and they went to different stations to learn about pioneer life. I took the day off work to volunteer and man one of the stations. After it was over, Kennedy wanted to be checked out early. The teachers said it was fine, since they were just going to watch a movie. So, we went to Kneaders for lunch with Sheri and Kenzie. They brought Kennedy out a cupcake with a sparkler in it, since it was her special day. She loved it!
