Eaglecrest Elementary Dance
There is a dance held at the elementary school every year in the spring. Kennedy was lucky enough to go with her cousin, Jordan. She was so excited! She had a great time. He even took her to dinner after, at one of her favorite spots -- Panda Express. We're blessed with a great family.

Double Digits
Kennedy turned 10 years old! She was so excited to be double digits. She has been counting down for this birthday for several months.
She wanted a chocolate cake, of course. Her favorite foods are chocolate and watermelon. She also got a big watermelon - and she thinks she gets to eat all of it! She was able to blow out all her candles, even though I only wanted to put 9 on. Seriously -- she can't be 10!
She opened a couple of gifts before school because she couldn't wait. She got a new outfit and wore it that day.
Part of her gift was getting a manicure and "glitter toes." She got to take a friend (Kenzie) and Savanna also got to go. They all enjoyed the manicure, as it was a first for them. They each chose a different color for their toes - and they were all so cute!
When we got to the salon, we were surprised to find just one girl there. We thought there would be several and they'd all be worked on at once. But, they each had to wait their turn. The girl who helped us was really nice and cute with the girls - which goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover! (I may have been guilty of judging her when we first arrived, since she had tattoos covering her body and a not-so-modest shirt on.)
She got a new scooter for her birthday and was quite thrilled about it. Thanks, Kaitlin, for helping her put it together!
At school that day, it was "Pioneer Day." All the kids dressed up in pioneer clothes and they went to different stations to learn about pioneer life. I took the day off work to volunteer and man one of the stations. After it was over, Kennedy wanted to be checked out early. The teachers said it was fine, since they were just going to watch a movie. So, we went to Kneaders for lunch with Sheri and Kenzie. They brought Kennedy out a cupcake with a sparkler in it, since it was her special day. She loved it!

Thurl Bailey Concert
We went to a fun concert on Monday night -- Thurl Bailey. Of course he is a famous basketball player (played for the Jazz, along with a few other teams), but he said his first love was always music. His daughter plays volleyball for Lehi High School. The program needs money, so he offered to do a concert and all funds raised would go to Lehi Volleyball. Each girl who plays (or wants to play!) was asked to sell tickets, so Savanna sold some. The concert got re-scheduled once because the first night the power was out. We really enjoyed it. It was a little over an hour long and in a smaller, intimate setting. Thurl was funny and really engaging with the crowd. He sang a few "oldie" songs that we knew, plus several he'd written. He has a beautiful, deep bass voice. Afterward he stayed for photos and autographs. We all enjoyed it.

Babylicious
This baby is very well loved. She is the most popular girl at any family gathering we have.Don't you want to kiss those cheeks, too?! Are those the cutest teeny, tiny toes you've seen? Her mom painted her fingernails and toes. (You can see the cute fingernails on the picture with Kennedy, if you click on it to enlarge it.) Check out that cute ponytail! Not to be outdone by his baby sister, this little guy is the life of the party. He is a very precocious 2-year-old, and wise beyond his years. He keeps us all laughing. Thanks for sharing your adorable children with us, Darin and Kryssi!

Easter Egg Hunt
We had an Easter egg hunt on the Saturday before Easter at the Kotter's. It was a little chilly, but not raining! Spring has been slow to come.
I love this picture of Kennedy and Lucas. They are so excited to begin the hunt, and are listening intently as Lori gives the instructions. They get a 1-minute headstart before all the rest go.
Three of us hid the eggs. Some were easy to find - others more hidden.
There were a lot of eggs, filled with candy, and plenty for everyone. It was fun to watch them fill their baskets or bags. The thrill is not just inside the egg - but in the hunt itself! Lots of fun.
The Kotter's have a big yard and they were spread out everywhere searching for eggs. It was serious business. There were a few "golden" eggs hidden that had something extra in them - money! Most thought they all had a $1. However, Savanna was the lucky one that found the real winner - a $5 bill!

Coloring Eggs
This is what happens when a certain someone is throwing a volleyball around in the kitchen, and it hits our workspace . . .
This is what happens when you don't put down newspapers under the egg dye, like it tells you to in the instructions . . .
And this is what happens when all of the dyes and dishes are put into the sink . . . Although I do love all this color - and wouldn't a paint-splattered sink look really pretty?!

M & M World
We went to M&M World, which is on the Strip, while we were in Las Vegas. This is a huge store -- with four levels! Anything you could possibly want with an "M" on it is available there. Savanna got a cute orange blanket and Kennedy got some earrings. They had a big rainbow of colors of M&M's you could choose, but they were very pricey. We also watched a short (8-minute) 3D movie. It was pretty corny, but we got to sit for a bit in a cool spot!Kayden and Kennedy look thrilled in this picture, don't they? They are not very cooperative with my picture-taking requests.
